Why Real Bar? Because founders John and Gigi Marsh honor their commitment to living well.  This shows in lifestyle choices around work, food, parenting, and community. The Real Bar was created as a whole food alternative energy bar designed to deliver delicious, pure, instant fuel for active bodies.

John is the chef/owner of a sustainable organic food restaurant in New Jersey, Gigi a Holistic Life Coach/Corrective Exercise Specialist.  They are raising, Mehret, their 3 year-old adopted Ethiopian daughter. The chef/therapist couple sampled every energy bar available, but found none fully satisfied. If healthy, the taste disappointed; if tasty, nutritional integrity lacked; if energizing, the crash/side effects detracted.

So John began making small batches of a healthy snack fuel derived from 100% natural and organic sources. These tiny quantities he produced exclusively for clients and friends, without the stabilizers, GMO’s and processed, artificial matter required in many manufactured food products.  He also took care to craft his recipe wheat free, gluten free and raw, as the chocolate is never heated above 95 degrees.

Athletes love it for it’s taste, it’s easy digestion (no GI issues) and long lasting, stable energy. Parents love it because it is a great tasting alternative to processed sugary snacks.  Everybody else loves it because they can’t believe something that is so healthy can taste so good and…it’s Real Food.

We are poised to carefully expand operations.  Our intent is to preserve the vision that inspired the first batch, while inviting a growing circle of friends and customers to “Get Real.”
